The Bumpers – Page 3, Bumper Clamps

The bumper clamps were a heavy stainless skin formed over a black enameled, three piece steel base. These original clamps have a different color of stainless steel than any modern replacements I’ve seen. The emblem blue paint was sprayed using a mask over the unpainted areas. This provided a finely feathered edge with no masking line or ridge.

Common on 1930 models, the center clamps have skins of chrome plated brass. Stainless versions were more prevalent in 1931.
