Welcome to the New MARC Website UPDATE

Tom Hovetter

It’s been just over a month since the launch of our new MARC website, and we’re thrilled with how well things are going. While every new project comes with a few bumps along the way, the MARC Board of Directors is genuinely delighted with the fresh, modern site and the momentum it’s already creating. Our Facebook presence has also taken a major leap forward, thanks to the dedication and talent of our website and Facebook team—they are doing an absolutely outstanding job.

The board has been receiving regular performance updates, and the results are truly exciting: website visits are climbing, engagement on our new Facebook reels is soaring, and membership numbers continue to grow.

Thank you for your patience as you explore the new site, and please keep visiting. More enhancements and updates are on the way, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Thomas L. Hovetter – MARC President

A ground up restoration by Joe Davis, former owner of Aries Restoration in La Honda, California. Front end and rear end disassembled. All bearings replaced, new kingpins, everything powder coated. Engine has counterbalanced crankshaft and all insert bearings. The engine appears completely factory stock, but has a Snyder 6:1 head, touring camshaft and stainless-steel valves for additional horsepower. A Leakless water pump with stainless steel shaft, an accessory oil filter and a completely rebuilt original Zenith Carburetor. The Front brake drums are new cast iron. The braking system was completely overhauled with new parts. The brakes work perfectly without fading and with moderate pressure. It has a lightened flywheel with early Ford V-8 clutch for much lighter foot pressure. The entire chassis has been sand-blasted and powder coated and is fairly clean as the car has about 700 miles on it since restored. The upholstery is vinyl as was the original, the pattern and style of the upholstery is as original. It has seat belts for 4 people. The instrument panel is the original Butler finish, a satin finish. The ignition switch is the original “popout” style. The steering gear was completely taken down, all new bearings and modern seals installed. It feels like power steering. The wheels are the original 19” welded wire wheels, sand blasted, and powder coated the correct color. Tires are new 19” Firestone tread pattern. The car travels at 55 mph very nicely. Other accessories include a left side spare tire mount, cowl lights, dual taillights and turn signals. Also rock guard over the radiator and a deluxe style trunk rack which is not installed. Wind wings protect the driver and front passenger from excessive wind at high speeds. A side view mirror is attached to the driver’s side wind wing. This is essentially a new car, with every part either replaced with new or restored back to original condition. The 1930 Standard Phaeton is a very hard to find Joe Davis, Medford, Oregon

Important Tour Details

This year, MARC is creating a unique experience by blending our Road Tour with several traditional Membership Meet activities.

  • General Membership Meeting: Tuesday morning.

  • Farewell Banquet & Awards: Thursday evening.

Plan Ahead & Register Early

Because May is peak season in the Finger Lakes, we recommend securing your spot as soon as possible. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Hotel Rates: Due to high demand, the “Tour Hotel Rate” may not be available for extended stays.

  • Banquet Capacity: The Thursday night banquet is strictly limited to the first 300 registrants due to venue space.

  • Limited Availability: Facilities across the region fill up quickly, so early registration is essential to ensure your spot.

Don’t miss out on this inviting blend of outdoor adventure and local flavor.

Please note that due to space constraints, the banquet area is limited to 300 people so be sure to register early.
